After reading the original comics written and illustrated by Bryan Lee O’Malley, my passion for the series grew even more. The story, characters and style of the comics seemed to resonate with me at the time and it quickly became one of my favourite series. The images below are some of the key panels I looked at from the comics to come up with these character item designs.
I thought of this project spontaneously one time after reading through the series again and thought it would be a nice challenge to create it purely on screen. Usually, my approach to a piece like this would be a combination of sketch and screen development but I’m always trying to find way to extend my skills within illustration to see what kind of results I can come up with by taking a different route than usual.
